We are launching the “Exploring Trauma” series with world-renowned experts.
In this series we will explore;
- reasons and consequences of trauma,
- healing practices,
- how to protect future generation from trauma.
First part will be on March 19-20. We are thrilled to host Privilidged Scientist Dr. Stephen Porges PHD, James S. Gordon M.D., Dr. Patricia Gerbarg PHD, Dr. Richard Brown, PHD and Feride Gürsoy.
Second part will take place in May and Dr. Peter Levine PHD will be hosted together with many other experts.

Stephen W. PORGES, PHD
Stephen W. Porges, Ph.D. is Distinguished University Scientist at Indiana University where he is the founding director of the Traumatic Stress Research Consortium. He is Professor of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina, and Professor Emeritus at both the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of Maryland. He has published more than 300 peer-reviewed papers across several disciplines. In 1994 he proposed the Polyvagal Theory, a theory that links the evolution of the mammalian autonomic nervous system to social behavior and emphasizes the importance of physiological state in the expression of behavioral problems and psychiatric disorders.
JAMES S. GORDON, MD
James S. Gordon, MD , a Harvard-educated psychiatrist, is internationally recognized for using self-awareness, self-care, and group support to heal population-wide psychological trauma. He is founder and executive director of the nonprofit Center for Mind-Body Medicine in Washington, D.C., a clinical professor at Georgetown Medical School, and was chairman (under Presidents Clinton and GW Bush) of the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy.
Dr. Gordon’s latest book, The Transformation: Discovering Wholeness and Healing After Trauma, helps us understand that trauma will come sooner or later to all of us.
PATRICIA GERBARG M.D. & DR. RICHARD P. BROWN
Patricia L. Gerbarg, M.D., Assistant Clinical Professor in Psychiatry, New York Medical College, graduated from Brown University, Harvard Medical School, Beth Israel Psychiatry Residency program in Boston, and the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. Dr. Richard P. Brown is an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons where he obtained his medical degree 1977. They developed evidence-based BREATH-BODY-MIND™ to enhance physical and mental health benefits of which have been shown for health care practitioners, individuals with psychiatric and medical conditions, at-risk children, veterans, active duty military, research studies, and survivors of disasters
Family Constellation and Somatic Therapies Expert
Boğaziçi University graduated Feride Gürsoy has been educated as a family constellation facilitator in 2001 by Svagito Liebermeister. She was also trained as a shamanic energy consultant in Pune Osho Multiversity and health coaching in High Energy Academy. She lives in Sweden and Bodrum,Turkey, consulting people and organizing Karakaya Retreat projects.
